This metric is intended to capture if the organization had a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policy in place as of the end of the reporting period.

A diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policy is a set of guidelines and practices that an organization implements to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within its workforce, as well as in its interactions with customers and other stakeholders.

Some examples of what might be included in a DEI policy include:

  1. A commitment to recruiting, hiring, and promoting a diverse workforce that is representative of the communities in which the company operates

  2. Providing training and resources to help employees understand and appreciate different cultures and perspectives

  3. Establishing an inclusive work environment that values and respects the differences among employees

  4. Providing equal opportunities for career development, advancement, and rewards

  5. Prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace

  6. Providing accommodations for employees with disabilities

  7. Providing support for underrepresented groups, such as employee resource groups

  8. Monitoring and reporting on the company's progress in achieving DEI goals and objectives

  9. Encouraging and rewarding supplier diversity

  10. Implementing policies and procedures to prevent and address bias in decision-making processes

  11. Encouraging open communication, creating a safe space for employees to raise concerns and share feedback
