Total Score Calculation
The total Proof Sustainability Score on the Scorecard is calculated using a combination of weighted factors and quintile-based scoring. Here’s how it works:
Weighting by Impact:
Each factor on the Scorecard is weighted based on its impact level:
Low Impact factors: Max of 10 points
Medium Impact factors: Max of 20 points
High Impact factors: Max of 30 points
Converting Factors to a 0-100 Scale:
For factors not on a 0-100 scale (e.g., Reporting History), performance is converted to a proportional score on a 0-100 scale. Each factor is then assigned a score corresponding to the highest value in its quintile.
Example: If a factor falls into the ‘Good’ rating (60-79 range), the top score (79) is used for calculation.
Rounding:
Decimal points are rounded up to the nearest whole number.
Example Breakdown:
Response Rate:
Max 10 points x 0.7 (70%) = 7 points
Reporting History:
Max 20 points x 0.79 (from the 'Good' quintile upper bound) = 16 points
Metric Count:
Max 10 points x 1.0 (100%) = 10 points
Metric Diversity:
Max 10 points x 1.0 (100%) = 10 points
Benchmark Performance:
Max 20 points x 0.19 (19%) = 4 points
Improvement Over Time:
Max 30 points x 0.29 (29%) = 9 points
Gauge Chart Classifications
Your total score will be categorized as:
Poor: 0-19 total points
Fair: 20-39 total points
Satisfactory: 40-59 total points
Good: 60-79 total points
Excellent: 80-100 total points
This ensures that your score reflects a balanced view of your sustainability performance across various impactful metrics.
