Sustainability Scorecard: How to Increase Your Score on Metric Count & Diversity

Improve your score by increasing your number and diversity of metrics using Proof’s assessment and data upload tools.

Updated over 2 months ago

As a data submitter, you can increase your score on the Metric Count and Metric Diversity indicators of the Sustainability Scorecard by reporting on more metrics across different categories. By increasing your metric count and diversity, you are improving your chances of understanding sustainability-related risks and opportunities material to your business, which your stakeholders care about. Here are three easy ways to do increase your metric count within the Proof platform:

1. Create and Send an Assessment to Yourself

One way to increase your reported metrics is to create your own assessment, send it to your own organization, and submit data for it.

  • Steps to Create and Submit an Assessment:

    1. Create a New Assessment: Log in to your account and create a new assessment in the Data Input tab. Select the metrics you'd like to submit data on. Need help picking metrics? Reach out to us via Intercom or at [email protected].

    2. Send the Assessment to Yourself: Send the newly created assessment to your own email address, or to the email address or someone else on your team.

    3. Submit Data via Incoming Tab: After sending it, navigate to the Data Input tab, then toggle to the Incoming section. Here, you will find the assessments you’ve sent to yourself.

    4. Submit Data: Complete the assessment by submitting the required data. That data will be added to your account and your score will update automatically.

2. Upload Data Using the Data Upload Feature

A second way to increase your metric count is by uploading data in bulk without needing to send yourself an assessment.

  • Steps for Data Upload:

    1. Create a new Data Upload: Go to the Data Upload tab and select the relevant metrics from the Metric Library to create a structured data file.

    2. Add Yourself as an Organization: As you configure the data upload file, add yourself as the organization.

    3. Fill Out the Data File: Complete the file by filling in the required data for each selected metric.

    4. Upload the File: Once the data file is ready, re-upload it into the system via the Data Upload tab.

3. Collect Data from Other Entities (Portfolio Companies or Members)

The third way to increase your metric count is by gathering data from other entities, such as portfolio companies or member organizations. You can read the full instructions on how to create and send assessments here.

  • Steps to Collect Data from Other Entities:

    1. Create a Data Upload File: Generate a structured data file that other entities can fill out with their information.

    2. Create an Assessment for Another Entity: Alternatively, create an assessment and send it to the entity for data submission.

This method allows you to increase the metrics you report on by collecting data from others, not just yourself.

You can boost your Metric Count and Metric Diversity scores by:

  1. Submitting assessments to yourself,

  2. Uploading data files, or
